What to photograph for a clear-out or moving quote

Good photos tell us most of what a home visit would. Here is what to photograph, room by room, so your quote fits the job and we plan the right team and van.

Drawing of a phone taking a photo of a room with a wardrobe and a sofa, next to three checked photos

We prepare most quotes from photos. You don't have to wait at home for a visit, and we can plan the team, the van and the time from the start. The better the photos, the better the quote fits the job.

One wide photo per room

Stand in the doorway and take one photo of the whole room. Then take a second one from the opposite corner. Two wide photos tell us more than ten close-ups.

  • Turn on the light and open the curtains.
  • Hold the phone sideways, so more of the room fits in.
  • Don't tidy up first. We need to see the room as it is.

Open the cupboards

A lot of what has to go is out of sight: in wardrobes, kitchen cupboards and under the bed. In a clear-out, this is often the biggest part of the job. Open the doors and take one more photo.

Cellar, attic, garage and balcony

These rooms are easy to forget, and they are often full. Add a photo of each one, even if it only shows a corner. If something is stored somewhere else, such as a garden shed, tell us in your message.

The way out

How things get out of the building matters as much as what is inside. Please add photos of:

  • the staircase, especially if it is narrow or winding;
  • the lift, if there is one;
  • the way from the front door to the street, for example through a courtyard;
  • the street in front of the house, so we can see where the van can stop.

The request form also asks which floor it is and whether there is a lift.

Big and heavy items

Take a separate photo of anything large or heavy: a corner sofa, a big wardrobe, a fridge, a washing machine, or anything that needs more than two people to carry. If you know the size, add it to your message.

Show us what stays

For a clear-out, tell us what must not go: furniture you keep, boxes for the family, papers. Put a sticky note on these things before you take the photos, or list them in your message. For a move, tell us what stays behind, so we only plan for what comes with you.

How many photos?

You can add up to 10 photos to the request form. For a small flat or a cellar, four to six good photos are usually enough. For a whole house, start with one wide photo per room, then the cellar or attic and the staircase. If you have more, you can also send them to us on WhatsApp.

No photos? No problem

Photos are optional. Without them, we ask you a few questions first, so we understand the job before we send the quote.

Ready? Send us your request with a few photos, and we'll send you a free, no-obligation quote.
